Maren Kelly and her friend Penny may be lost in the Scottish Highlands, yes. They may be caught in the blizzard of the century, sure. Jane decides to use some of the profits earned from her last novel, Emma, and treat herself to a period of rest and reflection at the spa, in the company of her sister Cassandra.

Lieutenant Peter Sinclair, R.N., Captain of H.M. Submarine Rugged and the youngest Commanding Officer with the famous "Fighting Tenth" Submarine Flotilla, sets sail.
