Die deutsche Journalistin Rosa-Li Sauer fährt nach Kolumbien, um vor Ort über illegale Adoptionen zu recherchieren und gleichzeitig gute Bekannte zu besuchen. Doch kaum ist sie bei Ralf eingetroffen, der als Büroleiter für eine deutsche Hilfsorganisation arbeitet, muss sie erfahren, dass Ottmar Schmidt, ein Mitarbeiter dieser Organisation, mitsamt seiner zweijährigen Tochter entführt worden ist. Rosa-Li begibt sich auf Spurensuche, recherchiert unter Kolumbiens Killern, Guerilleros und Paramilitärs und stößt auf eine grausame, deutsch-kolumbianische Intrige.
