Eddie Hertz is smart, real smart. He has to be. What other twelve-year-old patrols the streets of Nirvana alone, hoping to foil the schemes of the evil Mephisto? Since Eddie is small for his age, he trusts in his Batman-style gadgets belt and acrobatic skills as well as lots of experience, like knowing how to swing across dark alleys without being seen. Eddie has a dream, to become like Damocles, Nirvana’s great superhero. To make that dream come true, Eddie invented a device that is supposed to give him superpowers, but using it on himself might be dangerous, possibly fatal.

Grace is woken in the middle of the night to the sound of an armoured horse in her back garden. The next thing she knows, a dying Grace doppelganger bursts through her bedroom door and insists that she is the fifteenth and final Grace, and it is her destiny to win the Worthy War. Grace's quest takes her to the county of Brokenshire, where she must work with her trusty steed (who has a sharp tongue and a habit of reminding Grace of all the ghastly ends her predecessors have met!) to battle magical creatures and save the world.

Two thousand years ago, the dwarf Albrek went looking for new mines in the land of Thraxon in the hopes of becoming rich - and vanished. Now the dwarves must find Albrek's magical Ring of Searching before their mines run dry, a possibility which threatens the livelihood of the entire dwarf realm. Alexander Taylor joins a familiar company of adventurers on a quest to discover what happened to Albrek, find his mythical tomb, and locate the lost talisman.
