No ya ilustrar la obra imperecedera de Cervantes, sino vestir de carne visible y concreta un espíritu individual y vivo, no mera idea abstracta. Con escrupuloso cuidado me he entretenido en entresacar de las páginas vivas de El Ingenioso Hidalgo, cuantos pasajes se refieren más o menos directamente a los caracteres físicos de Don Quijote.
