Der Mensch hat es verstanden, Bedürfnisse wie Essen und Trinken aus dem Rahmen des Existenziellen herauszulösen und zu kultivieren. Das zeigt sich u. a. bei der Milch: Die erste Nahrung, das erste Getränk, mit dem der Mensch in Kontakt kommt, ist die Muttermilch. Dabei zeichnet sich der Mensch durch eine einzigartige Verhaltensweise vor den anderen Säugetieren aus: Er nimmt Milch selbst noch im Erwachsenenalter zu sich. Ebenso ungewöhnlich ist der Umgang mit einem anderen "Lebenssaft".
