Dr. Hawkins introduces his first lecture in the Sedona Series with an explanation of why he wrote the book, Power vs. Force. He wanted to provide a way for people to move from the everyday linear world of black and white to the less familiar, abstract, nonlinear world without thinking they were moving into a mystical, imaginary realm. He wanted to enlarge the paradigm of reality of science so the intelligent person could comprehend the work and conclude that there was something to look at in the nonlinear domain.

Schools of ministry are good at preparing us in how to do ministry. They are less adept in preparing us in terms of what ministry will do to us. How do we cope with the grandiosity that is triggered by success? How do we deal with the anger and bitterness that besets us when our ministry is going badly? How do we handle our sexuality inside all of this?
