Mohandas Gandhi wrote this book while traveling from London to South Africa on board SS Kildonan Castle between November 13 and November 22, 1909. In the book Gandhi gives a diagnosis for the problems of humanity in modern times, the causes and his remedy. Gandhi's Hind Swaraj takes the form of a dialogue between two characters, The Reader and The Editor. The Reader essentially serves as the typical Indian countryman whom Gandhi would have been addressing with Hind Swaraj.

"Unto this last" est un essai de John Ruskin, écrivain, poète, critique d'art et peintre anglais sur l'économie, paru pour la première fois en décembre 1860 dans le mensuel Cornhill Magazine sous forme d'articles. Très critique à l'égard des économistes capitalistes du XVIIIe et du XIXe siècle, c'est un précurseur de l'économie sociale.
