In the town of Azurville, the residents know two things to be true. One, those who are born in Azurville, die in Azurville. Two, those who die in Azurville, stay in Azurville. Instead of departing this world, their ghosts are left behind in whatever mess the living has left them in. Some residents are fine with this, as it allows them to still be connected with their loved ones. While others find the eternal tether insufferable. When life doesn't end after death, what then gives life its value?

An archaeologist retires to teach high school, but when his students tell him about a nearby abandoned town, they set out to investigate.
