In this podcast I'm setting out to discover the Unusual Histories and Intriguing Mysteries of Great Britain. I’ll looking for interesting stories, strange buildings, mythical animals, folklore legends and some decent pubs. Who knows I might even find the occasional ghost. In the first series I visit the New Forest. The ancient Norman hunting ground in Hampshire. Among other adventures I’ll be tracking down a coven of witches, investigating a 1000 year old murder and unravelling a chilling Victorian ghost story.

In 1815 the Battle of Waterloo brought to an end the Napoleonic Wars and the European continent opened up once again to British tourists.
