An intimate portrait of Handel’s life and inner circle, modeled after one of the composer’s favorite forms: the fugue. But is this music necessarily synonymous with Handel? Where did his eclecticism and experimentalism come from? Februar 1685 in Halle an der Saale, zählt zu den bedeutendsten Komponisten des Barock. Bereits früh zeigte sich sein musikalisches Talent, und obwohl sein Vater, ein Wundarzt und Hofchirurg, zunächst keine musikalische Karriere für seinen Sohn vorsah, setzte sich Händel – unterstützt von seiner Mutter – durch. Er erhielt Orgelunterricht bei Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow, der ihn in die Werke deutscher und italienischer Komponisten einführte.

Karl Aage Rasmussen, født 1947, er en af de fremmeste repræsentanter for dansk moderne kompositionsmusik; men han har også fået et anseligt publikum til sine efterhånden mange bøger om klassisk musik gennem flere århundreder.
