A world that had forgotten what violence was didn't know how to defend itself. City after city fell. Earth became a lifeless wasteland as the undead army swelled and crushed the humans like ants underneath its boot. It all ended at the last stronghold. Forgoing all hope for salvation, a handful of desperate humans realized that the only thing left was revenge.

What could be simpler? On my very first day in this world, I was given the title of a count along with all the trimmings: a castle, name, lands and power. You'd think I had it made, but no . . . They seized my castle, took my lands, and now, I'm surrounded by enemies. Moreover, it's nothing but one headache after another with the authorities. And even though I wrested my castle back, the neighbors aren't going anywhere, and they live and breathe to tear off chunks of my land, and eliminate me, the new head of the family.

Every stone, no matter how small, creates ripples in the water. Every action, no matter how insignificant, leaves a trail that can lead to trouble. And so, a seemingly ordinary trip leads to a battle with a ghoul with a penchant for young flesh. Coincidence? Perhaps. One in a series of many. Drops turn to streams, streams merge into a river, and a river roars into a waterfall that can swallow you up if you're not careful.

I was the most powerful healer in my world—the best, having devoted my entire life to mastering the art of healing. And yet, for whatever reason, my brother feared that I sought to claim his throne, and he marshaled his forces against me.

After her near-fatal journey into the Descent, Ilea returns south to check on her allies and lay some groundwork for unlocking her elusive third Class. Trian is ready to start training the first generation of Medic Sentinels, the battle-healers of their newly founded organization, and Ilea is happy to join in as a teacher (of sorts). Hopefully, her work will pay off in the birth of at least a few mini-versions of herself.

Ilea is going home. After a small detour to raid an old Necromancer’s treasure room. After months in the barren and deadly North, Ilea returns to Ravenhall to rest, check-in on old friends, and of course–train her resistances. Her homecoming includes a visit to Riverwatch where she encounters new allies… and old enemies. But what would a good holiday be without a few fights and near-death experiences?

In the aftermath of the demon invasion, Ilea makes her way to Riverwatch to find a home for a wayward mind weaver (ensuring he doesn’t eat anyone along the way). After traveling, reuniting with old friends, and some light punching, Ilea's life, it seems, is slowly returning to normal. But dire news awaits her upon her return to Ravenhall.

Mikhail isn't greedy, no! He's simply thrifty, practical. And he cannot fathom how anyone can leave trophies behind on the battlefield. No way does that mean he's stealing them! And of course Mikhail isn't a slave master! Although those who he corralled into signing service contracts might not agree.

Shadow, the Skull captain, has been defeated, but it's far too soon to celebrate. The undead still hold a firm grip on the capital and are showing no signs of retreating. They cannot be faced alone. Humanity's defenders must regroup, grow stronger, and seek new allies. Time is running out, and every move risks setting off a chain reaction. Questions swirl around the young healer, drawing the enemy's attention. Alarmed, they're escalating their efforts. For now, his true identity remains hidden, but there's no telling how much longer the secret will hold.

At night, I cleanse the world of the undead, and in the morning, I enjoy a nice breakfast under my friends' curious gazes. Their questions will have to wait, because no matter how you spend your free time, life goes on. Sometimes in unexpected ways, both for you and your acquaintances. After all, what could be more unexpected than the sudden arrival of your roommate's relatives? At least I know how to deal with the undead. Cut off the head and—boom—problem solved. But what should I do with an aunt ready to curse me from the doorstep?

Being reborn into a new world is all but simple. He still didn't know who placed him into this body, but if there was a chance, he should take it. Though he'd be lying if he said he wouldn't have preferred being born into a respectable and powerful aristocratic family. Instead, he was on his own. He had no wise teacher to reveal the secrets of power. Not even an ordinary family. No education, no money. He was orphaned and neglected. It was a rough start, to say the least.

After inadvertently triggering the start of Developmental Phase 4 with the destruction of The Citadel, Thaden learns from his squirrel companion, Sadia, what the Wildlands has in store for him and the other Contenders. Unfortunately, despite his incredible power as a largely solo healer, he quickly discovers that in order to succeed in the final Phase, numerous additional people will need to participate.

Mikhail's adventures continue. He's finding out ever more about this world, and the Empire in which he lives. But he's in for some surprises, still. They've tasked him with training the most hopeless students from the Department of Healing Arts. Perhaps this was meant to be a way of punishing Mikhail, but in the end, it's tough luck for the students. After all, look at who they got for a teacher! One thing's for sure, no way will these students end up as mediocre Healers!

Gangsters, aristocrats, offworlders . . . What difference does it make? To Mikhail Bulatov, none whatsoever. Any of them could be friend or foe, and he could care less what world they're from or what their place is in the social order. As for his enemies, any conversation will be equally brief, even if different in content. And yes, those out to get him are ramping up their efforts, and increasing in number. Not that there's any question of his ability to handle it all. That being said, he must not lose sight of who he is. First and foremost, he is a Healer.

Mikhail's power had only grown with every new day, and his Family was also flourishing. However, so were their enemies. New ones had emerged, and old ones who'd long ago written them off were now stirring. But really, was this a problem? He was a healer, and there was always a remedy, and mandatory "treatment" could not be stopped! Indeed, his enemies would pay handsomely for it. At least, whatever remained of them.

The threats I've been facing in this world, well, it's like playing whack-a-mole. The local aristocrats are still conspiring to put roadblocks in the path of the ever more powerful Bulatov Family. And then I have the offworlders from another world—they haven't gone anywhere, either. They're still opening portals and sending through invaders, although, thus far, these attacks have been isolated grabs for loot and prisoners. A portal opens, offworlders dash out, get what they can, and retreat.

This world never fails to surprise me! I take care of one problem only to be confronted by yet another—my unceasing enemies want what is mine. Is it that hard for them to comprehend that I, the Archmagister of Healing, can't be had so easily? Why, oh why are healers in this world seen as the weakest of the Gifted? It makes no sense to me. In my former world, everybody knew that Healers were to be respected and feared. Ah, well. It won't be long before they wish they'd never crossed my path.
