The NOLA Zombie series comes to a close with this emotional and action-packed installment. Since the SHTF, Romeo is good at one thing, killing zombies. He doesn't want to waste his time with anything else. His fellow survivors think of him as a machine and he's fine with that. There isn't any time to waste on things, like feelings, or other nonsense. Lena Dervay, former movie star, current walking victim, has barely been surviving in a repurposed middle school run by an incompetent army lieutenant.

After spending four years fighting for the Alliance, fighter pilot Alisa Marchenko wants only one thing: to reunite with her young daughter. But this involves a journey to her former home world, which has become the last imperial stronghold. Since the imperials have a lot of reasons to loathe members of the Alliance right now, just getting down to the planet will be a challenge, and it doesn't help that her passengers are stirring up trouble of their own.

Del Littleton is having a bad month. Three jobs have gone south and the last one went sour with a dead body. It doesn’t help that Dylan O’Farrell, the federal agent who has been making her life hell for months is the one who finds her. The worst part is that even though she feels like smacking the cocky agent upside the head, she also wants to get him in bed. Dylan knows Del is being set up. She isn’t the best bounty hunter out there, but she isn’t stupid. Before he can figure it out, they find themselves on the run, trying to protect Del from an unknown enemy.
