Andrew Frost had been gone no more than fifteen minutes. It was just supposed to be a quick run to the store. Andrew Frost has all the time in the world to save his wife and daughter—provided he doesn't die himself. Overcome with grief following their murders, Andrew discovers he has the chance to fix everything via time travel. Before he knows it, he's opening portals, meeting alternate versions of himself, using nanotechnology to heal his injuries, and bickering nonstop with his know-it-all AI assistant: Tim, the talking dog.

Andrew Frost doesn't have time to relax. Having defeated an enigmatic killer and made a massive sacrifice to protect his family, he now has an even bigger problem on his hands. It seems his daughter's mere existence could bring about the collapse of the universe. So, on the advice of Tim, his super-intelligent canine AI companion, Andrew decides to travel forward in time to get some help from someone who should know exactly what to do: himself.
