Paug Blumpkin is smart for an Orc (rather like saying he's smart for a box of hair). He's bored of training with the rest of the Horde for a war that will never come, and he's definitely tired of polishing his helmet. So he decides to set off in search of adventure, bringing along his cheerfully idiotic brother Milph, who has a regular habit of forgetting his pants.

When a talented new player joins the perennially-losing sub-minor-league hockey team, the Fighting Aardvarks, it marks the beginning of a winning tradition. But things aren't as they seem, and players begin to change. First line center Hammie learns the truth: the Aardvarks are becoming vampires, and it's up to him to stop them before the infestation spreads beyond just the team.

Chef Muffin is no adventurer, but she's going to have to figure out how to become one. She's got to prepare a fantastic dish for a royal wedding, using ingredients she's never heard of, that she'll have to travel the breadth of the world to find. If she fails, she loses her livelihood, but if she succeeds...like every true fantasy adventurer...fame and fortune await. And, if she's lucky, she might even find true love into the bargain. It's a recipe for fun.
