James Longstreet's countermarch and Samuel Johnston's morning reconnaissance are two of the most enigmatic events of the Battle of Gettysburg. Both have been viewed as major factors in the Confederacy's loss of the battle and, in turn, the war. Yet much of it lies shrouded in mystery. Recognizing the multitude of factors that affect human memory, In the Shadow of the Round Tops explores how the individual soldiers experienced, remembered, and wrote about the battle, and how those memories have created a cloud over James Longstreet's countermarch and Samuel Johnston's reconnaissance.

In the Shadow of the Ark

Story0
In the Shadow of the Ark is written to present the evidence and ideas about the pre-flood world and why God destroyed it. It is a story told from the perspective of Kenan, an outsider to Noah. An outsider’s perspective does two things for the story, it allows the reader to see Noah as he probably appeared to the people of his time, it also allows a more thorough presentation of the pre-flood world than Noah would have experienced personally. It is also a love story; first is the love of God for all people, second is the love story between Kenan and Orani.

The destruction of the Armenians of the Ottoman Empire in 1915-16 was the greatest atrocity of World War I. Around one million Armenians were killed, and the survivors were scattered across the world. Although it is now a century old, the issue of what most of the world calls the Armenian Genocide of 1915 is still a live and divisive issue that mobilizes Armenians across the world, shapes the identity and politics of modern Turkey, and has consumed the attention of U.S. politicians for years.

Story0
We all know about Mahatma Gandhi’s work, but few know of the role his wife Kasturba played in it. Kasturba was not a mute but was, in fact, a great freedom fighter, a pioneering satyagrahi and often her husband’s chief strategist and harshest critic. All Indians Matter presents a six-part series, ‘Kastur: In Gandhi’s Shadow, His Guiding Light’, to bring into focus the woman Kasturba really was. Join me, Ashraf Engineer, as I interview Tushar Gandhi, great grandson of Kasturba and the Mahatma, an author, a peace activist and someone who’s striving to keep Gandhi relevant in today...
