L’idea di raccontare questa storia mi è venuta per la prima volta mentre riavvolgevo la mia vita. Si dice che scrivere sia terapeutico, ma mi sento di aggiungere che lo è anche il leggere, il rileggere e il soffermarsi su alcuni punti particolari, adattandoli nel cuore prima ancora che nella forma, per ricomporre il difficile puzzle della nostra esistenza, cercando di capire se la figura che stiamo formando sia vera o solo frutto della nostra speranza e fantasia.

Il racconto, di carattere autobiografico, nasce con l'intento di descrivere l'esperienza familiare dell'affido di un cucciolo, destinato a diventare un cane guida per ciechi. I primi capitoli soddisfano la curiosità attorno a questa avventura - la scelta di prendere un cane "a termine"; l'iter cui deve sottoporsi un potenziale affidatario; la trepidazione che precede l'arrivo del cucciolo; l'ingresso del piccolo ospite in famiglia e nel contesto sociale - e lasciano gradualmente spazio a spaccati di vita familiare e momenti di solitudine che alimentano dubbi e riflessioni.

Quanti di noi hanno sognato di farlo, anche se sono in pochi ad averlo davvero messo in pratica: mollare tutto e partire, lasciando il lavoro e le certezze per qualche mese a contatto con la natura, cercando - come si dice - se stessi, un nuovo slancio, l'ispirazione per ripartire o reinventarsi. Federico, il protagonista di "Come radice nella pietra", ci è riuscito, a Playa del Carmen, Messico.

"Il braccialetto di Marilyn" è un romanzo liberamente ispirato ad alcune vicende raccontate all'autore da una simpatica coppia di veneti, emigrati negli Stati Uniti ai primi del '900 (lui) e poco dopo la Grande Guerra (lei) e rimpatriati negli anni '70 del secolo scorso. All'ascoltatore può fornire l'occasione di rammentare qualcosa di un mondo tramontato per sempre, forse con nostalgia ma senza rimpianti.

Questo audiolibro è composto da racconti, tutti legati tra di loro da un comune denominatore che è Flaminia. Chi è Flaminia? È una bambina che cresce e diventa giovane donna in un palazzo del cinquecento dove incontra tantissime persone straordinarie. E ha pure la fortuna di avere avuto due genitori che le narravano le gesta di nonni, parenti e umanità varie dal passato particolare, che lei non ha mai conosciuto.
