Matt Haig, the award-winning best-selling author for children and adults, joins Robin Morgan for his second time in the Audible Studios to discuss his new book How to Stop Time. It follows the character of Tom Hazard, a man that looks 41 but, owing to a rare condition, has actually been alive for centuries. Farah and Braun have collaborated on a new book about Russian weapons supplier Victor Bout. Bout emerged from the Cold War with easy access to the massive inventories of weapons and ammunition built up by the Soviets.

Dr. Volkow is director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse and one of the country's leading addiction researchers. Her research has helped demonstrate that addiction is a disease of the brain, and that all addictions (drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex, gambling, even food) are more alike than was previously thought.

In March of this year, she recorded her first album of new material since 1965. It's called Dangerous Game.

Hear poet Natasha Trethewey and critic-at-large John Powers, on this edition of Fresh Air. Natasha Tretheway was just awarded the Pulitzer Prize for her third collection of poetry, Native Guard. Trethewey grew up bi-racial in Mississippi, and her mother was murdered by her stepfather. These are recurring themes in her poetry; so is the South. The title of her new collection refers to a regiment of African-American soldiers who fought for the Union in the Civil War.

Hear actor and producer Paul Rudd and music critic Milo Miles on this edition of Fresh Air. Paul Rudd produced and stars in the new independent film The Ten, which is a series of irreverent vignettes that reinterpret the Ten Commandments for a modern audience. Rudd is also in the film Knocked Up, and he stars in the upcoming movie I Could Never Be Your Woman with Michelle Pfeiffer.

Hear The Simpsons executive producer and writer Al Jean, and actress Nancy Cartwright, on this edition of Fresh Air. Al Jean has been with the TV show since it began, first as a writer, then as executive producer. He has said the new Simpsons movie is about "what happens when a man doesn't listen to his wife."
