En un tiempo ignoto (mayo de 2007) y en un Madrid terrorífico, roto en zanjas por las excavadoras y con la población presa del pánico por la gripe aviar, el protagonista de esta historia vaga de cuerpo en cuerpo intentando averiguar su propia identidad, intentando no enamorarse de una muchacha hacia la que sus distintos cuerpos lo llevan, intentando ver una película en la que sorprendentemente se hallan las claves de lo que le ocurre e intentando que no suceda un crimen del que ya ha sido testigo y del que conoce casi todo: el asesino, el arma homicida, el día y la hora. Todo menos la víctima....
