Die Kollegen in der Kieler Rechtsmedizin, darunter auch Yaos ehemaliger Lebenspartner, gehen von einem unnatürlichen Tod aus. Yaos Chef, Professor Paul Herzfeld, führt einige Telefonate mit der Kieler Staatsanwaltschaft, um ihr sehr unbürokratisch Akteneinsicht in den Todesfall zu gewähren.
