Dylan Marlais Thomas (October 27, 1914 to November 9, 1953) was a Welsh poet and writer. He became widely popular in his lifetime, and remained so after his death at the age of 39 in New York City. By then, he had acquired a reputation, which he had encouraged, as a "roistering, drunken and doomed poet." In the following recordings, Thomas reads his poems "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night," "Poem in October," "In My Craft or Sullen Art," "Lament," "Fern Hill," "Poem on His Birthday," "A Refusal to Mourn," and "If I Were Tickled by the Rub of Love."

After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of the most popular playwrights in London in the early 1890s. Joseph Rudyard Kipling (December 30, 1865 - January 18, 1936) was an English novelist, writer, and journalist. He was born in British India, which inspired much of his work. Kipling's works of fiction include the The Jungle Book, 1894; The Second Jungle Book, 1895, Kim, 1901, as well as, many well-known short stories and poems. The three poems include "Sussex," read by Stanley Morrison; "If," by GH Hendricksen; and "Gunga Din" by Paul Lahnerd.
