Alan Zweibel started his comedy career selling jokes for seven dollars apiece to the last of the Borscht Belt standups. Then one night, despite bombing on stage, he caught the attention of Lorne Michaels and became one of the first writers at Saturday Night Live, where he penned classic material for Gilda Radner, John Belushi, and all of the original Not Ready for Prime Time Players. From SNL, he went on to have a hand in a series of landmark shows - from It’s Garry Shandling’s Show to Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The following two recordings include Mr. Rogers' speeches for his 1997 Emmy Award, and his 1999 induction into the TV Critics' Television Hall of Fame. In the second clip, wheelchair-bound Jeff Erlanger, who had appeared on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood as a boy, surprises Mr. Rogers with his on-stage presentation. Mr. Rogers goes on to address the audience of television celebrities and producers, and asks the poignant question, "How do we make goodness attractive?"

As they hunt for their elusive prize, the three prospectors become progressively more corrupt and greedy and fall foul of each other’s all-consuming greed, in this exciting adventure story. With Humphrey Bogart recapturing his role as the wicked Fred C. Dobbs and Walter Huston as the grizzled old-timer Howard, the role for which he received the Oscar as best supporting actor.

Mr Punch Presents: It’s a Wonderful Life, the irresistibly heart-warming story of George Bailey, who is prevented from committing suicide by the elderly angel Clarence, who takes him on a journey back through his life to show him how the town of Bedford Falls would have been had he never lived. Originally directed by the celebrated Frank Capra, it is performed here for radio with James Stewart, Victor Moore and Donna Reed recreating their original roles.

Mr Punch Presents: All About Eve, the Oscar-winning story of the self-effacing and ambitious actress Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter) who cleverly manipulates her way into the life of ageing Broadway star Margo Channing (Bette Davis). This venomous depiction of show business and backstage life has become a classic story of ambition and betrayal and one of Hollywood's all-time masterpieces.

Mr Punch Presents: The Virginian, who falls in love with Molly the local schoolmarm, in this classic Western starring Gary Cooper. He has to vie for her attention with his best friend, Steve, who soon becomes involved with a band of outlaws led by the villainous Trampas. Captured for cattle rustling, the film climaxes with a showdown between Trampas and the Virginian in a classic shootout on a dusty Western street.

Mr Punch Presents: National Velvet, telling the story of Velvet Brown (Elizabeth Taylor), the idealistic English farm girl with a passion for horses, who wins the spirited steed ‘Pie’ in the local town lottery. Her infectious enthusiasm encourages the embittered jockey Mi Taylor (Mickey Rooney) to train the horse ‘Pie’ for the Grand National - England's greatest racing event.

Deborah Jane Trimmer (September 30, 1921-October 16, 2007), known professionally as Deborah Kerr, was a British actress who was nominated six times for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Kerr was known for her roles as elegant, ladylike but also sexually repressed women who deeply yearn for sexual freedom. Kerr won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the 1956 musical film The King and I. The following recording includes clips from a variety of tv interviews.

Lillian Diana Gish (October 14, 1893-February 27, 1993) was an American actress whose career spanned 75 years, from 1912, in silent film shorts, to 1987. Gish was called the First Lady of American Cinema, and is credited with pioneering fundamental film performance techniques. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Duel in the Sun and in 1971, she was awarded an Academy Honorary Award for her career achievements.
