Story0
It’s late 2021. New York City’s shaking off it's lockdown funk. The bars and nightclubs are packed, the music is loud and drinks are flowing, but in the shadows, predators are watching. Tech-savvy and cold-blooded, they’re armed with lethal drug cocktails that they use to knock out victims and drain their accounts, leaving them for dead. This is the story of a crime spree that claimed seven lives, slipping under the NYPD’s radar for months, disguised as a wave of overdose deaths among gay club-goers in Manhattan.Follow the story on Substack: https://substack.com/@staceysze?utm_source=...

Story0
t Started with Two Manhattans is an unscripted monologue audio blog series by DeShawn Scott, an American businessman, speaker, and loving Bäbu. With a respectful but sometimes unfiltered approach, DeShawn shares his perspective on life, business, and a range of topics that don’t always connect. Most episodes run under ten minutes, stretching longer when a guest joins or when the subject runs deep. It’s an audio blog because he’d rather speak from the heart than sit in front of a screen typing.

Over a few weeks in 1741, 10 fires blazed across Manhattan. With each new fire, panicked whites saw more evidence of a slave uprising. Tried and convicted before the colony's Supreme Court, 13 black men were burned at the stake and 17 were hanged. Four whites, the alleged ringleaders of the plot, were also hanged, and seven more were pardoned on condition that they never set foot in New York again.
