Ma sarà proprio quest'abito da cerimonia troppo stretto a rappresentare una svolta nella storia, tra drammi imprevisti e colpi di sorpresa paradossali in puro stile pirandelliano.

"Jeri e oggi" venne pubblicata da Pirandello per la prima volta nel giugno del 1919 ne "Il Messaggero della domenica", anche se l'autore siciliano l'aveva scritta già nel 1915.
