Recently traded to the Grizzlies, I’m struggling to find my place on the team. I’ve changed coasts, moved away from my best friend, from the Breakers who became family, and. . . I’m alone. And it’s my birthday. A fact that everyone around me seems to have forgotten. Until a knock at the door proves differently. I was in love with Luna when I was a teenager, and now she's on my doorstep, vivacious and beautiful and. . . holding a piece of paper I barely remember. One that says we’ll get married. . . And I think I’m just insane enough to say yes.

Imagine you were at your best friend’s engagement party in Vegas. You were super excited because you were the maid of honor, and the best man was the hottest football player you’d ever seen. Even this guy’s position as tight end was appropriate for his, well...tight end. Anyway, there was something about his cocky attitude that ruffled your feathers and turned you on at the same time. Maybe it was the way he challenged you or because women seemed to flock to the gorgeous man. But according to him, he only had eyes for you.

So I woke up married today. For some that’s not a big deal. For me…I have no idea who the woman is. Don’t get me wrong—her killer curves, big smile, and way-too-eager-to-be-married-to-me attitude is kind of attractive. But this isn’t me. I’m the guy on the team who makes sure this kind of crap doesn’t happen. There’s one choice: end the marriage. Pronto. I’m going under the knife for shoulder surgery and my plan is to wake up with a new shoulder and be a single man. I couldn’t be any more wrong if I tried…
