This is a true story. For twenty years in the heart of Kansas, a serial rapist has been preying on female students at two large universities—Kansas State and the University of Kansas. He has stalked them to their off-campus apartments and in the middle of the night appeared in their bedrooms. The “Kansas College Rapist” has committed at least 15 attacks, but after years of investigations and over a thousand leads he is still at large. Now and for the first time, survivors of his attacks are stepping forward to tell their stories and publicly expose details about his crimes. Together, with the local police in Kansas and the U.S. Marshals, the series Midwest Monster is working to help to identify and capture the Kansas College Rapist.

Welcome to Silent Roads: Midwest, where the stretches of highway feel endless and the quiet hides more than it reveals. Out here, the towns are small, the stories run deep, and the missing are never forgotten. Every week, we dig into unsolved disappearances and cases that never found closure. We’ll walk the county roads, sift through local memories, and follow the threads that still linger in the shadows of the Midwest. Some of these stories are well known. Most aren’t. But all of them matter. So settle in. Let’s take the first steps together down a road that’s been silent for far too ...

We’ve all heard the phrase ‘that kind of thing doesn’t happen in our town’, but here on Midwest Murder, we will shatter that false reality. In fact, it happens more often than we know, and sometimes the details of the most horrific crimes that happen in our neighborhoods are lost in the back pages of newspapers, forgotten on our news channels, and eventually erased over time.
