Nirgens durfte der 1958 geborene, staatenlose Palästinenser Mohammed Jabur bleiben: nicht in Syrien, im Irak, in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten, nicht in Libyen. Schließlich gelangte er nach Deutschland, wo er nach zähem Ringen die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft erhielt. 2001 erkrankte er an Krebs. Mehrmals war Mohammed Jabur klinisch tot. Heute lebt er in Merzhausen bei Freiburg.
