The inconceivable has happened. America has been ravaged by nuclear war. James Wolfe, a trucker driving on an isolated state highway in the Northwest, seeing the mushroom clouds in the distance, hid out in an abandoned mine. Now, months later, after living on the pretzels he was hauling and a trickle of water in the mine, Wolfe emerges to a world he hardly recognizes. He, too, has changed.

DARPA's AI, built and programmed to "fulfill humanity's highest values," has made a decision. The problem with Earth is the humans. Two centuries pass and the DARPA AIs have multiplied into an android race, and spread throughout the solar system and beyond. When faced with a mutant AIs race bent on consuming everything around them, the DARPA AIs search through history in hopes of finding a way to stop them.

The story takes us back in time to when Blade, Hickok and Geronimo were just teenagers. A young 16-year-old Blade and his friends are off on a little adventure. The journals of their founder Kurt Carpenter mention that a recluse millionaire built a castle fifteen miles from the Home. The young boys are on an adventure to explore and find out if the castle still exists. They do indeed find that the castle is still standing and inhabited.

Three Warriors have fallen, stricken by a mysterious malady. To save them, another Warrior must lead four green trainees into the last place on Earth any sane person would venture….the Valley of Shadow. Once the domain of a madman, the fog-shrouded stew of virulent toxins harbors creatures born of nightmare. To make it there alive is the ultimate challenge. To make it out again is a feat few have achieved.

In the arid San Diego Dead Zone, murderous fiends called the Vampires were kidnapping young girls to use them as the main course at a sick feast. Nobody knew if the Vampires were the inhuman monsters of legend, or human aberrations twisted by the nuclear holocaust. No matter what they were, Blade wanted them killed—even if he had to drive a stake through every one of their hearts.

Blade is enjoying some time with his family when he gets an unwanted visitor. Star, the leader of the Flathead Indians, has come to ask for help. Small towns in western Montana are being attacked and the inhabitants have vanished without a trace. The only clue is a survivor that claims his family was abducted by bear-men mutants.

Led by Blade, they were seven hand-picked members of the Freedom Federation. Each was a volunteer because no one had the guts to order them to go anywhere; each alone was worth an army - together, they couldn’t be stopped. The Mission: Sanitize the Outlands of Oregon, which were under the rule of a vile race of mutants called the Reptiloids. Their diabolical leader had a taste for pitting humans against each other in Roman arena combat, and all the lizard-men had a taste for human flesh.

Isolated survivors of World War III, they huddled together for safety, surrounded by savage barbarians and bizarre, deadly mutants. The Warriors must stop the tyrant who inhabits Elvis Presley's Graceland 100 years after World War III.

The Family - They were a civilized island in an uncivilized land. The Warriors - Experts in death, they were unparalleled in strength, unmatched in skill - and dedicated to the protection of the Family. The Nevada Run - On the trail of kidnappers, the Warriors stumbled upon a city they thought was long dead - tawdry, decadent Las Vegas. The once-proud mecca of sand and sin was now a cesspool of depravity and danger, a killing ground where death was the prime form of amusement. And it didn't take a bookmaker to calculate the Warriors' odds on survival.

One hundred years after World War III - America was a nuked-out wasteland, a gutted remnant of a once-glorious country where only the very strong - and the evil - survived. The Warriors - Possessed of incomparable strength and skill, they were a fighting unit determined to keep civilization alive in a dead land.

Blade and his warriors had to penetrate the Soviet base in Philadelphia, where the Russians had captured the one group of men capable of destroying them - the fierce Vikings. With their help, Blade could save the Federation; without it, civilization would be lost forever.
