L’idea di raccontare questa storia mi è venuta per la prima volta mentre riavvolgevo la mia vita. Si dice che scrivere sia terapeutico, ma mi sento di aggiungere che lo è anche il leggere, il rileggere e il soffermarsi su alcuni punti particolari, adattandoli nel cuore prima ancora che nella forma, per ricomporre il difficile puzzle della nostra esistenza, cercando di capire se la figura che stiamo formando sia vera o solo frutto della nostra speranza e fantasia.

"Il Muto di Gallura" è un personaggio a dir poco leggendario, probabilmente il più famoso dei "banditi vendicatori" dell'Ottocento sardo. Sebastiano Tansu Addis, questo il vero nome del "muto", era popolarissimo già in vita e venne reso immortale dal romanzo storico di Enrico Costa, un bestseller di fine '800. Una storia pazzesca, quella del Muto, tanto che fece sorgere vere e proprie leggende.
