The story of the ocean is as old as the earth itself. Overfishing, pollution, and oil spills have highlighted the need to take better care of our oceans so that the story can continue to be told.

Plastic is everywhere...even in our oceans! But how did it get there, and why does it matter? Max Axiom and the Society of Super Scientists are on a mission to find out. Earth is nearly 70 percent water. Most of this water is frozen in the form of glaciers. As our planet warms, glaciers are melting faster than usual. Sea levels rise, and water washes over coastal areas. Homes are destroyed. Habitats are lost.

With their long tusks, narwhals are unique whales that live in the Arctic Ocean. But as climate change causes global temperatures to rise, less and less sea ice is covering the Arctic Ocean each year. Narwhals are left vulnerable without the ice, which historically provided them with safe areas to roam out of reach of their natural predators, killer whales. And humans are taking advantage of the clearer water, searching and drilling for oil and hauling cargo.
