Arcade is a 12-year-old boy who has a unique gift that allows him to travel into another dimension with the special token he received from a mysterious woman. However, he doesn't have an answer when his teachers ask his class the same simple question every year: What do you want to be when you grow up? Arcade begins to pick up books on everything from entrepreneurship to football to piano to card tricks. As he dives into books, he discovers that the possibilities for his future are endless.

This Thomas Edison is a 10-year-old aspiring gangster from 1933 who demands to be called “Tommy Twinkles” and is also very interested in robbing a bank of the future.

Disbelief and shock fill eleven-year-old Jake when a stranger grabs his beloved dog. Jake and his twin Ava chase the scruffy teen down their suburban street, but the thief simply vanishes. So … what is this ancient-looking skeleton key Jake finds in the street? Turning it in the air takes the twins—somewhere else!

Dort treffen sie auf historische Persönlichkeiten und erleben die Wettfahrt bei Rainhill, die 1829 das Zeitalter der Eisenbahnen einläutete. Natürlich sorgen Jan und Leonie für einigen Wirbel, und am Ende schaut jemand recht schmutzig aus der Wäsche.
