The term 'Narcissism' has been used increasingly to describe someone who is 'difficult' or 'unpleasant' - who treats other people badly. Narcissism is however a very real condition. Those who suffer from narcissistic personality disorder are very low in empathy and therefore particularly bad at maintaining long term personal relationships.
