When Rob Forbes returns to his childhood home of Zimbabwe after decades away, he doesn't plan to stay long. A big job back in London awaits. But he finds himself questioning his priorities when he experiences the open-hearted exuberance of people who have so little compared to his wealthy colleagues; a powerful reconnection to the animals and wild places he loved as a child; and a growing friendship with Tibetan guru and neighbour Rinpoche. It’s been a struggle to get the Rabbi to commit to a date and the large Wojnaswki clan can’t agree on what food should be served. Only, Debs’s problems are just beginning. Because Nora isn’t your average centenarian, and she has other ideas.

The Last Refuge is the story of three aasimar and a tiefling sent to a strange new world on a divine mission. Trouble is, when they arrived, none of them could remember what that mission was. Join Briathos, Byzdera, Flik, Kit, and DM Jazzy Hands as they play matchmaker with kobolds, assassinate yuan-ti political figures, and completely (if accidentally) disrupt the delicate equilibrium of the world they’ve found themselves in.
