Tidigt på lördagsmorgonen den 7 april 1990 börjar motorfärjan Scandinavian Star brinna på Skagerack, i havsområdet mellan Norge, Sverige och Danmark. Ett omfattande räddningsarbete med deltagande av norska, svenska och danska räddningsorganisationer dras igång. Samtliga fartyg i området kommer till undsättning, med infernot går inte att hejda. 158 människor omkommer denna dagen, och branden på Scandinavian Star går till historien som en av de värsta färjekatastroferna i nordiska farvatten någonsin.

Jacklyn Stone’s freedom is tainted with guilt.
