Sean develops a troubled relationship with his father after his parents' divorce, which is complicated by his inability to retain the sailing maneuvers his father teaches him. When Sean reluctantly takes the helm and the wind suddenly picks up, he finds himself in a situation where he must act quickly to prevent disaster.

While walking along the beach one day, Isobel and Nicholas discover a strange-looking wreck. As they begin to put it together, they find it is a peculiar sort of sailing boat. They clamber in and so begins their great adventure.
