The aftermath of the naval battle for Westia has left Vannessa and Zirkseas broken. Lox is faced with two goals: find a way to heal the people he cares about, and hunt down Ike for a little payback.

Lox has made friends and gotten a good start to his new life in WoM. After spending some time hunting down the remnants of the pirate fleet, Lox is guided by Vannessa down to the Kingdom of Sails. There he gets swept up a quest that will shake this kingdom to its core. Sailing his ship, the Audacious, Lox embraces a life of the high seas and explores this strange realm nestled in one of the most beautiful and enormous archipelagoes in any world.

With weather magic on her side, Vice is the bane of the high seas, but she isn't the captain of her own ship. Yet. If she can prove herself and get a command, she'll be in charge of her own fate at last. To pay off his family's debts, Knigh Blackwood hunts pirates for the Royal Navy. When the bounty on Lady Vice grows, he's determined to make her face justice, even if that means beating her at her own game. Forced to work closely, neither can deny the tension that crackles every time they're together.

Between a desert and a dried up sea lies the town of Watering Hole, the only oasis for miles and the home of our intrepid heroes Shaani and Xoota. After some rather harrowing adventures in the desert, they are followed home by a swarm of empathic earwigs.
