En México, en el Golfo de California, el desastre llega a la vida de Payeto, la vaquita marina más pequeña del mundo. De pronto, él está solo, y posiblemente sea la última vaquita marina del Planeta. En San Pedro, un pequeño poblado cercano, dos adolescentes, el tímido Miguelito y la preciosa Magda, luchan por encontrar un futuro esperanzador en una comunidad donde la industria pesquera está colapsando.
