The podcast is based on the concept of black hearts and red spades that is derived from a movie called ‘Interstate 60’, where the lead character was introduced to a visual warm up that involved naming the suits of playing cards as the tester revealed them at an increasing rate. At the conclusion, the tester revealed that the lead had not passed the test, as he had failed to call out the black hearts and red spades correctly. Subsequently, the idea was presented that we see only what we want to see, and not always what is really in front of us.
