Speak Out is the radio show/podcast made by OutWrite Newsmagazine, the oldest queer college publication in the nation established in 1979 at the University of California, Los Angeles. A mix of talk, interviews, and advice, Speak Out is a deep dive into queer community in all its forms.

On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, Michael Benfante went to work, just like he had day after day, at his office on 81st floor in the World Trade Center North Tower. Moments after the first plane struck, just 12 floors above him, Benfante organized his terrified employees, getting them out of the office and moving down the stairwells. On his way down, he and another co-worker encountered a woman in a wheelchair on the 68th floor.

Jo-Ann Geffen and Lois Whitman-Hess are two long-time publicists and business advisors who have championed the biggest names in entertainment, tech, fashion, publishing, sports, art, and the specialized field of crisis management. Speak Out World: Arts, Activism & More! explores the connections between the creative arts, activism, and community engagement while building a global community. Undeterred by the Pandemic, we seek to give a voice to unsung heroes, trailblazers, independent artists, athletes, and MORE to share their passions.
