Gulliver sticht mit seiner Besatzung in Richtung Australien in See. Nachdem Festland in Sicht war, wurden Beiboote ausgesetzt um Wasser zu suchen. Plötzlich sind seine Leute in heller Aufregung und verlassen fluchtartig die Insel, da ihnen ein Riese auf der Spur war. Er wird am Ufer mit seinem Hund Frido zurückgelassen. Der Riese steckte Gulliver und Frido in seine Jackentasche und trug sie zu seinem Haus. Gulliver war im Königreich Monstrosia gelandet.

Gulliver träumte schon immer davon Schiffsarzt zu werden. Am 4. Mai 1699 sticht er mit dem Schiff Antilope in See und beginnt eine Reise in die Südsee.
