Years ago, the Academy bore witness to a gruesome tragedy. Macie's sister, the valiant Jocelyn Graves, was cruelly taken from the world when she was pushed from the school's roof by a malevolent shadow entity. This spectral figure is known as Oliver. He is an ancient, terrifying entity known as one of the October People. Steeped in Native American folklore, these spectral beings return to the Gulf Coast each October, for a brief, deadly three-day stint. Their singular aim? To steal from the living, to kill the living.

When Jocelyn Graves left the Leaf Academy after her solo investigation, she was determined to return for another look. Only not by herself. The Gulf Coast Paranormal team accompanies Jocelyn as she faces down her fears at the haunted school. As they deploy for the paranormal investigation, ominous black feathers begin to appear and the team has to work hard at avoiding the entity's dangerous invitation. An evil ghost in a leather jacket targets one of the team members, and Sierra begins to hear ghostly music that leads her down a dangerous path. Will she be able to return to Joshua?

For as long as I can remember, I've been the girl who didn't fit in, the girl who collapsed in the middle of class, just because my brain decided to turn on me. I can't really complain, though. We don't live in the Middle Ages, so I have yet to be subjected to an exorcism. I can get treatment for my condition. Epilepsy aside, I can mostly be a normal person and have a normal life. It's my third year at The Academy of the Devil, and things finally seem to be falling into place. I've reached a tentative agreement with my new lovers. My life is finally headed in the right direction. Until he shows up. They say he is an exchange student. They call him Lucian and cluster around him like flies drawn to honey. They are blind. I know the truth. I can see his true identity in his eyes, in his smile, in the sinful power bubbling under his skin. He is Lucifer, the Fallen One, the Brightest Star. He wants me to be his.
