Story2
What is our species' greatest invention? Medicine, computers, space travel? Not even close. The innovation that underlies each of our past achievements and those we still aspire to is language. Language is the ultimate invention of Homo sapiens - one that has allowed us to change the physical and social world around us in every conceivable way, and an invention that has fundamentally changed us, as well.

Story1
In the middle of the second century AD, Rome was at its prosperous and powerful apex. The emperor Marcus Aurelius reigned over a vast territory that stretched from Britain to Egypt. The Roman-made peace, or Pax Romana, seemed to be permanent. Then, apparently out of nowhere, a sudden sickness struck the legions and laid waste to cities, including Rome itself. This fast-spreading disease, known now as the Antonine plague, may have been history’s first pandemic. Soon after its arrival, the Empire began its downward trajectory toward decline and fall.

Story0
A sweet blend of psyche and spirit for the mystic, and esoteric and rare suggestions for the psychotherapist who appreciates combining spiritual themes with their work. While this podcast isn't therapy and doesn't take the place of an agreed upon treatment with a mental health professional, it does explore spiritual traditions in light of eastern and western studies of the mind. Since God has many faces, as the late Joseph Campbell shared, the mystic, magician, and pagan can comfortably come in one place to discover light for their individual path but not without a healthy respect for the ...
