Raven Bonetalker, the Daughter of Bones, has her plate full. Not only is her neighbor still driving her nuts, but she's in a new relationship with Kipa, the Lord of the Wolves, and neither one is ready for everything that entails. But life takes a sinister turn when a spirit begins siphoning off the life force of one of Kipa's wolf shifters.

Raven BoneTalker, also known as the Daughter of Bones, is one of the Ante-Fae-the dangerous, unpredictable predecessors to the Fae Races. But Raven is young, and she likes interacting with mortals, so she's opened a business-the Witching Hour-where she takes on clients with ghostly problems. Mostly she reads cards, boots out the odd poltergeist, or helps grieving families contact their loved ones for closure.

I was hoping for a few days off from dealing with murder charges, bad guys, and the everyday paranormal bizarre. All I wanted was a nice break from all the crazy. And did I get it? No. Of course not. Instead, a new coven comes to town. A coven of witch females who call themselves The Sisters of the Circle, a small, elite group for the upper crust of witch society—according to Dolores. But there's something off about this coven, and I just can't put my finger on it. All the while, my aunts and other witches in town worship the ground they walk on like fangirls. Forget my time off.

Constance has her mother back, but it came at a high price. Her familiar lied to her. Her grandmother's gone. And her boyfriend has given her space—space she isn't sure she needs. She concedes by taking her first official mission for the Faction, hoping to solve a few questions of her own. While she's gone, there's a string of mysterious crimes in Creel Creek, ultimately leading to a botched burglary and a murder. The perpetrators of which share the same curious trait—they don't remember committing these crimes.
