La sera del 28 febbraio 1991 tutta Italia sta guardando Sanremo, ed è acceso sul Festival anche il televisore di Beniamino Zuncheddu e dei suoi familiari, nella loro casa di Burcei, nel sud della Sardegna, quando suona il campanello. È un’ora tarda, non può essere una visita normale: c’è qualcosa che non va. E infatti alla porta ci sono degli agenti della squadra mobile della Questura di Cagliari in divisa mimetica. Prelevano Beniamino, e per lui ha inizio un incubo senza fine.

Nashville 1964. Eighteen-year-old babysitter Paula Herring is murdered in her home while her six-year-old brother apparently sleeps through the grisly event. A few months later, a judge's son is convicted of the crime.
