Daxas has established his dungeon in the Proving Grounds and incorporated two more into his sphere of influence. But his expansion and rule-breaking doesn't end there. His successes have been impressive, but thus far, he has been competing against the other minnows in the Proving Grounds. Other, grander forces, have taken notice and the interfering Divine Lords continue in their campaign to see Daxas destroyed. Daxas will have to think bigger, fighter harder, and cheat in ever more inventive ways if he and his growing pool of desirable disciples are to emerge victorious.

Dave Smith is having a bad day, week, month, maybe even year. Freshly unemployed, facing eviction, and now he's been transported to a fantasy world. A wish come true for many a geek, if only he hadn't died less than a day after he arrived. Now trapped in this fantasy realms version of purgatory, he faces the prospect of trying to navigate a new existence as a dungeon. That wouldn't be so bad, except ending dungeons seems to be the path out for many of the other denizens of these Proving Grounds.

Prince Gaborn, the Earth King, has defeated the forces arrayed against him each time before: the magical and human forces marshaled by Raj Ahten, who seeks immortality at any cost and has given up his humanity in trade; and the inhuman, innumerable, insectile hordes of the giant Reavers from under the Earth, whose unknowable motives are inimical to human life.

Daxas has reached rank eight. He has conquered and subsumed a second dungeon increasing his power and pulled one over the Divine Lords in the process. However, he is aware this will bring new difficulties to his door and the Divine Lords are unlikely to take their humiliation well.

Daxas has survived his first few weeks as a Dungeon. He has successfully discovered several exploits in the system and has been thriving. He is advancing to the second rank, fought off an invasion of orcs and goblins, and, most importantly, now has a lovely wood elf companion named Jessamyn. However, success brings new challenges and new, more powerful challengers. It's time for the Wolf King to expand his dungeon, cut down any who dare oppose him, and add to his harem of mates. Meanwhile, the Divine Lords are plotting in the background, trying to engineer his downfall.
