Psychologist Kenneth Barish explains the sources and consistency of our political beliefs and why we continue to disagree about fundamental issues in American life. He offers antidotes to the angry, repetitive, and unproductive arguments that now dominate our political culture. When Moral Politics was first published two decades ago, it redefined how Americans think and talk about politics through the lens of cognitive political psychology. Today, George Lakoff's classic text has become all the more relevant, as liberals and conservatives have come to hold even more vigorously opposed views of the world, with the underlying assumptions of their respective worldviews at the level of basic morality.

The College is composed of eight departments, seven of which are academic. The College of Liberal Arts consists of ten undergraduate and six graduate degree programs which are housed in the departments of: English and Foreign Languages, History and Interdisciplinary Studies, Mass Communications, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Visual and Performing Arts (which houses Music, Fine Arts, and Drama/Theater).
