I'm the next in line for Fyrifirar Tribe Jarl, a skilled warrior, and definitely not good at chopping down trees. But I can't stop thinking about the tiny human female who we'd found near our village with eleven other human females. She's so small, barely larger than an orkin child, and so lovely I can't get her out of my mind. And then I went and nearly killed her while felling a tree to distract myself. Yet somehow, she still ended up in my arms.

I'm tired of being scared, but fear is like a constant companion these days. Some big blue alien stole the last of my friends, and now I'm alone as a prisoner on a spaceship on my way back to the planet that stole everything from me. I thought I'd seen the last of the blue aliens, until suddenly I'm staring into the eyes of one as he gets ready to fire a laser right into the cockpit where I sit. And at this point in my life, I'm thinking this might be the best way to go.

The red aliens make me a deal I can't refuse-help them fight their enemies and they'll rescue my friends. I agree to act as bait to lure the blue Drixonian leader. But the heated, knowing look in his violet eyes makes me suspect I made a bargain with the wrong aliens . . .

The blue alien warrior pacing in his cage terrifies me. His long dark hair is wild and his scarred body looks made for murder. I deliver food to him every day, and I'm sure by the way he stares at me that he'd rather eat me. Yet there's something about him that captivates me, and I can't stop watching him.
