He was a youth during a time of anti-Semitic activity in Romania, but it was later, after becoming a believer in Jesus Christ as Messiah and daring to publicly say that communism and Christianity were not compatible, that he experienced imprisonment and torture for his beliefs.

F. F. Bosworth (1877-1958) was an evangelist, an early religious broadcaster, and a Pentecostal faith healer. During the 1920s he was known for his "big tent revival" and large auditorium meetings and his demonstrations of faith healing, with people from all denominations attending. Today Bosworth is best known for his book Christ the Healer, which now has over 500,000 copies in print. This recording is from one of his sermons.

He then helped to oversee the numerous reforms and improved ecumenical relations with Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestants. Aimee Semple McPherson (October 9, 1890 - September 27, 1944), also known as Sister Aimee, was a Canadian-American, Los Angeles-based evangelist and media celebrity in the 1920s and 1930s. She founded the Foursquare Church. McPherson has been noted as a pioneer in the use of modern media, especially radio, and was the second woman to be granted a broadcast license. She used radio to draw on the growing appeal of popular entertainment in North America and incorporated other forms into her weekly sermons at Angelus Temple.
