The Aldens are preparing for a yard sale when they find an old wooden mask in the trash behind a neighbor’s house. Violet notices that the mask looks like a Native American mask she had read about. When the mask is stolen, the children begin to think their newfound treasure may be worth a lot to someone. Can the Aldens find the thief and the mask before it’s too late?

The Aldens are helping their grandfather organize Greenfield's Winter Festival. When the Boxcar Children get a roll of photos developed, they find a secret message hidden in one of them. They are baffled, and things become even more mysterious when they realize that someone is trying to ruin the Winter Festival by tearing down the decorations and stealing a local statue! There must be a connection between the message and everything that is going wrong.

The Aldens are spending their first week of summer at Camp Quest in Colorado. The children are excited to learn about fossil-hunting and paleontology from renowned scientist Dr. Iris Perez. But strange events at the camp make them wonder if the legends of a bigfoot-like creature roaming the valley might be more fact than fiction. Can the Aldens help Dr. Iris figure out who - or what - is causing such a stir?
