Life sucks. Gabe Harris has been clued into this fact for a long time now. Bills, debt, and misery have haunted him for his entire adult life and, to make matters worse, it feels like his dream of being a writer is dead on arrival. Two years ago, the end began. In 2036, a rapidly destabilizing climate culminated in a worldwide snowstorm that froze the entire planet. Billions are now dead due to starvation, disease, civil unrest, and the plummeting temperatures. What remains of humanity now live in small settlements or isolated makeshift villages, carving out miserable lives in this grim new reality. Some, like Chris Weston, choose to travel among the vast winter wastelands between the bastions of civilization. In the aftermath of the great collapse, Chris finds himself strangely suited for this new world.

What remains of Pine Lake is a dead end, and the best hope for Chris, the women he loves, and the denizens of the settlement now lay in a town of preppers living on an island a few hundred miles to the north. All of their faith is now being put into that settlement, and the train that Chris discovered and Fay repaired. Even with a mostly functional train and a lot of luck, it will still be a long journey. Any number of dangers, environmental, animal, and human, could lay in between them and their destination.

Mace is back, and he's not alone! After surviving the wastelands of Neo Mars, Mace begins life at Delta with Faye and Cinder. The colony—a massive USF base with fabricators, a mining operation, an AI, and much more—should be full of other survivors. But Delta is vacant. Where is everyone? What happened to the USF megacolony? The mutant germ burning through Neo Mars isn't helping, either! Well, at least he'll have the gorgeous fox girls to keep him company... and they're keen on giving him all the company he wants!

She's resourceful, intelligent, fast, gorgeous...and she has a curious eye for Mace Frost. Soon, night begins to fall across the dusty red deserts, and things lurk in the shadows. With Faye's help, maybe they can survive together.

On a frozen, not-quite-dead planet, a desperate salvage operation has gone wrong. Max, hired to investigate, travels to the distant world, but his ship is downed by an abandoned defense system.

Luke just wanted to get away. What better place than a personal, secluded cabin in the woods to clear his mind? Besides, the quarantines were still in place, and the world wasn’t getting any better. Social media was abuzz with tales of an impending disaster, wars brewing overseas, and more. Then it happened. One of those apocalypse predictions turns out to be true: a massive solar flare shatters the power grid worldwide. Pressing on, Luke makes it to his cabin and discovers a woman already there....
