The supernatural community seems to be at war with itself, and the human inhabitants of the community are not exactly acting like normal humans. Without her powers Torie is at a loss as to how she can help them. But there is one person who may be able to help her.

When a visiting angel dies in mysterious circumstances in Crimson Cove, covered in bites that look like they were made by a ghoul, my wonderful witch goes into full-on panic mode. She's convinced her ghoul mother is the killer. But I'm not so sure. Ghouls are chaotic and dangerous, but there's something bigger going on. How do simple bites kill an almost immortal creature? Who is leaving all those enormous footprints in the woods? And why do non-magicals keep getting through our protective wards?
